Pack Rat
I'm a pack rat. I come from a long line of pack rats, and pack ratting is in my blood. I try very hard to fight against the urge to save anything, no matter how useless. I mean...coupons that expired 2 years ago might be important...when? I just tossed a bunch out last night. I'll probably need them tomorrow.
Which is one of the reasons I pack rat. Whenever I throw something out, I inevitably need it shortly thereafter.
That's how I got my cat, Miss Diamond. She'd gotten out of the house while her owners were moving and vanished into the wilderness. They gave their new number to Loreta in the hopes that she would turn up, but months went by and -- no cat. So Loreta figured she'd gotten killed or something and tossed the number way. Right after that number was gone...the cat showed up. So I ended up taking her in.
But anyway, I was thinking of useless things I save, such as...well ticket stubs. Not so much from movies, but I've got tickets stubs for sporting events that go back for years. Okay...SOME of them, I can understand. The Florida Panthers season tickets for example, had changing artwork on them and some of them...when a player was involved, I had autographed. But regular everyday Fort Myers Miracle ticketmaster printed tickets? I've got hundreds of those. Is it really going to matter where I was sitting on May 4, 2001? Am I ever going to need that information? Why am I saving these? I highly doubt a bunch of old ticket stubs are ever going to become collectors items.
So why am I saving them? Because I can't bring myself to throw them out. Seriously. It's hard enough getting me to toss the old parking stubs I accumulate and there is no reason for keeping those. (Not to mention those coupons that expired 2 years ago.) Pocket schedules I can understand. Same with the magnetic schedules. These are kind of minor collectors items and you can trade for them or buy them on E-bay.
Okay so...you can buy and sell ticket stubs on e-bay too. Well, important ones. I was kind of wondering what to do with all of them, but perhaps I found a solution. A ticket stub diary. And no...I don't have the buy the one off e-bay, I think can do this with one of the regular paper journals you can buy at Barnsey's. I can use those little photo corner things to hold them into the diary so I don't ruin them.
Oh great! Another project. Ah....why not...
Although I do know, somewhere down the line, somone is going to come and back and say --- "Why are you saving all these ticket stubs?"
Heck if I know.
